BLOWOUTS HAPPEN

We understand why you're late or just plain couldn't make it!

Pregnant Mamas

Take some time to get to know each other before baby comes. You'll be better equipped to support each other after. Here are some meetup ideas...

  • BRUNCH or potluck lunch

  • Yoga and Pilates

  • Hang out at each others homes and just check-in

  • Weekly Zoom check-in

  • Walks in the park

  • Wood Project Outing (e.g. Board & Brush Fairfax)

  • Paint & Snack (e.g. Muse Paint Bar)

  • Registry shopping

  • Consignment sales

  • Lactation Class (e.g. Susan Howard)

  • Mama Mindset Check-In: Roundtable with thoughts on pregnancy, motherhood & yourselves as INDIVIDUALS

  • Other Classes!

Stress not, lest ye be stressed.

With Babies

It's up to each mom as to decide when she wants to venture out with baby. Do what makes YOU feel comfortable. Whenever you're ready, you'll be so glad you don't have to go out and make new moms friends!

1. Revolving playdates/meetups are nice during this time.  They're a low-stress way for mom to get some adult conversation!

  • For those who can host, a sign-up sheet can be posted on your groups Google Sheet.

  • A big production is not expected. A cleared space on the floor or some space to sit and feed baby is much appreciated!

  • Everyone travels with their own drinks these days. Of course arriving with some fruit or a healthy snack is always welcome, but not required.

  • Moms get a chance to practice gettimg baby out in the carseat, knowing the destination is low-stress and they can celebrate the victory on arrival.

  • Don't underestimate baby bonding time. Babies love baby faces too!

2. Mommy & Me Yoga is great around 8 weeks or so - SUPER CUTE!

3. MOMS NIGHT OUT! Dads can watch the kids at home, or at their own dad playdate. Moms need their time to reconnect & breathe.

4. Take a walk.

5.

With Older Littles

Let the games begin...

  • Kid & Family Events: Check Macaroni Kid in your area

  • Pumpkin Patches in the fall!

  • Smaller zoos are great (e.g. NOVA WILD in Reston)

  • Park playgrounds (e.g. Clemyjontri Park in McLean)

  • A revolving schedule of weekly meetings planned by moms who are willing (e.g. their home/backyard, walk in a park...)

  • Try a kiddos class together (e.g. tumbling, dance swimming, romp n'roll..)

  • Low-stress birthday group parties! These can get more competitive as you kiddo ages.

  • MOMS NIGHT OUT! Dads can watch the kids at home, or at their own dad playdate. Moms need their time to reconnect & breathe.

Don't miss the miracles.
